Susan Newell of Puxico, Missouri born to the late Henry and Maxine Boyt on January 07, 1939 in Flint, Michigan passed away on November 03, 2021, with close friends by her side, in Puxico, Missouri at the age of 82 years. Susan was married to Ernest Newell on March 17, 1987 in Poplar Bluff, Missouri. She lived in the Puxico, Missouri area for over 30 years, she also lived in Decatur, Illinois and Peoria, Illinois. She was of the Christian Cherokee Faith. Susan was an avid animal lover and rarely met a stranger with four legs and fur. She was proud of her Cherokee ancestors, making many beautiful native works celebrating her heritage across her lifetime. Susan is survived by one daughter Beverly (Russell) VanRheeden of Decatur, Illinois; one son Jon Anthony Heise of Wappapello, Missouri; three grandchildren Andy VanRheeden, Jason VanRheeden and Sarah (Ryan) Vankirkley, MA of Decatur, Illinois; three great grandsons Kendrick, Corbin and Joshua all of Decatur, Illinois; one brother Byron Lawson. She was preceded in death by her parents Henry and Maxine Boyt. A host of family and friends also survive. Visitation will be held on Wednesday December 01, 2021 from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri. Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday December 01, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri with Chaplain Keith Luke of Poplar Bluff, Missouri officiating.
