Amy Barnes Amy Barnes, the daughter of the late Charles and Amy Ann Dawson, was born in Quitman , Arkansas on April 27, 1914 and passed away at her home in Dexter, Missouri on May 1, 2005, at the age of 91 years and 4 days. Mrs. Barnes had lived in Sikeston, Missouri until moving to Dexter, Missouri in 1979. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church. On April 22, 1935, she was married to Alvin Barnes. He preceded her in death on October 7, 1995. Surviving are two sons: Wesley Barnes of Dexter, Missouri and David Barnes of Houston, Texas. Four daughters: Ruby Neal of Dexter, Missouri, Shirley Bennett of Cleveland, Texas, Doris Baessler of St. Louis, Missouri and Linda Kizer of Lawrence, Kansas. Fourteen grandchildren, several greatgrandchilden and 4 great-great grandchildren. One brother: George Dawson of Clarksville, Texas. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by two sons: Robert and Roy Gene Barnes and one daughter: Juanita Smith. Friends may call from 5:00 to 8:00 P.M. on Friday, May 6, 2005 at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2005, at 11:00 A.M. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with Bro. H. Worth of Essex, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Bloomfield Cemetery in Bloomfield , Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
