Billy Hunsaker, son of the late Newton Hunsaker and Anna Dublin Hunsaker Kimbrel, was born in Coldwater, Missouri on September 19, 1934, and passed away at his home in Springfield, Missouri on August 19, 2014, at the age of 79 years and 11 months. He was raised in Southeast Missouri and had lived Springfield, Missouri since 1988. He had worked at as a pipe fitter and attended the West Division Baptist Church in Springfield, Missouri. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy serving during the Korean Conflict and was a member of the V.F.W. and Masonic Lodge. In July of 1956 he was married to Melba Jane Fincher in Dexter. She preceded him in death on January 15, 2007. Surviving are four sons, Russell Hunsaker of Springfield, Gary Hunsaker of Elkville, Illinois, Tommy and Kevin Hunsaker both of Dexter; three daughters, Sharon Snodgrass of Moberly, Missouri, Sheila Armbruster and Leila Busby both of Sikeston; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; two brothers, Gene Hunsaker of Dexter, and Jerry Hunsaker of Walnut Grove, Missouri; four sisters, Virginia Sherfield of Dexter, Linda Christian of Fordland, Missouri, Glenda Fowler of Wixom, Michigan, and Pansy Gianacakos of Springfield, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by six brothers, Alvin, John David, James, Burl, Ralph and George Newton Hunsaker. Visitation will be Monday, August 25, 2014, after 9:00 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held Monday, August 25, 2014, at 10:00 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Steve Tippen of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with full military honors. Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
