Bryan Pinkston Jr.
Bryan Pinkston Jr. of Bloomfield, Missouri was born January 12, 1930 in Greider, Arkansas, to the late Rufus Bryan and Lovie (Williams) Pinkston and passed away on March 26, 2026 in Cape Girardeau, Missouri at the age of 96 years old.
Bryan graduated high school and went on to get two years of college. He started his career for the US Army Corp of Engineers in 1953 and rose to Captain several large steam driven dredge boats. His father Rufus worked for the Frisco railroad and the family lived in different railroad towns as Bryan grew up. The family was living in Bainbridge, near Egypt Mills when "Junior" Pinkston, as he was called in his high school yearbook, met and married Dorothy Heise in 1948. They had three children: Diane, Steven, and Marilyn and lived in Cape Girardeau, Missouri. He retired to his farm near Bloomfield, where he raised cows and chickens and loved to garden.
Surviving family include: two daughters and one son, Diane Pinkston of Houston, Texas, Steven (Debbie) Pinkston of Friedheim, Missouri, Marilyn (Basil) Harrison of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, three grandchildren; Charles (Jennifer) Pinkston of Texas, Elliott (Christina) Larmie of Florida, Nichole Larmie of House Springs, Missouri, two great grandchildren; Sam Larmie of Florida and Nate Pfeifer of House Springs, Missouri, one sister, Joyce Farrow of Cape Girardeau, Missouri.
Bryan was preceded in death by his parents, Rufus Bryan and Lovie Pinkston, and wife Dorothy Pinkston.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2026 from 10:00-11:00 am at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, March 31, 2026 at 11:00 am at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Bloomfield, Missouri.
Burial will take place following at Walker Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri.
