Carolyn Merrick

Carolyn Merrick of Sikeston, Missouri, daughter of the late Louie Houston and Juanita Peppers Barber, was born in Charter Oak, Missouri on November 15, 1946 and passed away in Sikeston, Missouri on December 20, 2020 at the age of 74. Carolyn enjoyed cooking for her family and friends. She worked for many years at Aramark Uniform in production. Surviving are her two sons Rick Merrick of Benton, Missouri and Mark Merrick of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; one sister Sharon (Donney) Benthal of Portageville, Missouri: six grand children, Nicholas Merrick, Logan Merrick, Hailey Merrick, Peyton Merrick, Morgan Merrick, and Ethan Merrick. Many other family and friends survive. Carolyn was proceeded in death by her parents, one brother Jimmy Barber, and daughter Kimberly Ann Merrick Visitation will be held on Tuesday December 22, 2020 at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter starting at 11:00 am until service time. Funeral services will also be Tuesday December 22, 2020 at 12:00 pm at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, with Rev. GL Keene officiating. Burial will follow at the Essex Cemetery in Essex, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Service handling all arrangements.
