David Lynn Davis

David Lynn Davis, son of the late Alfred and Essie Cookson Davis, was born in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on February 2, 1952, and passed away at the Mark Twain Caring Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on January 13, 2016, at the age of 63 years, 11 months and 11 days. Mr. Davis had lived most of his life in Puxico, Missouri. He had been affiliated with the Stoddard County ARC since 1989 and had lived in the ARC Group Home for several years before moving to the Mark Twain Caring Center a year ago. He was a member of the Assembly of God Church, had competed in the Special Olympics for several years and had a love for trains. Surviving are eight first cousins, Leon Cookson and Dellis Cookson both of Puxico, Missouri, James Cookson of Springfield, Missouri, Shirley Martin of St. Charles, Missouri, Linda Anthony of O'Fallon, Missouri, Carolyn Roberson of Ballwin, Missouri, Paul Cookson of Advance, Missouri, Marvell Wheetly of Puxico, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. Friends may call on Tuesday, January 19, 2016, after 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, January 19, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with Rev. Ray Placher of Puxico, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in the Brown Cemetery near Puxico, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
