Floyd L. Ward, son of the late Floyd Lee, Sr. and Anna Lorene Hallbert Ward, was born in Granite City, Illinois on September 19, 1929, and passed away at the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center in Poplar Bluff, Missouri on March 27, 2015, at the age of 85 years, 6 months and 8 days. Floyd had lived in St. Louis for many years and moved back to Puxico thirteen years ago. He retired from General Motors, was a member of the U. S. Army, and a veteran of the Korean War. He was a member of the First Baptist Church in Puxico, the V.F.W, Masonic Lodge and was a Shriner. He had volunteered at his wife's school, enjoyed traveling, watching his hummingbirds and his grandchildren were his pride and joy! On July 22, 1951, he was married to Nettie Sue Steinmeier in Piggott, Arkansas. Surviving are his wife, Nettie Sue Ward of Puxico, Missouri; two sons and wives, Terry & Linda Ward of Hazelwood, Missouri, Keith & Anita Ward of St. Charles, Missouri; six grandchildren and spouses, Jonathan & Courtney Ward, Amy & Spencer Chew, Allison Ward, Alyssa Ward, Laura Ward and Elena Ward; one great granddaugher, Abigail Ward; one brother, Larry Ward of St. Louis, Missouri; and one sister, Mildred Peters of Dupo, Illinois. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one sister, Betty Townsend. Friends may call on Sunday, March 29, 2015, from 5:00 to 8:00 pm at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri, Masonic services will be held at 7:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 30, 2015, at 10:30 am at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with the Rev. Justin Miller of Puxico and Bro. Darren Baker of Puxico officiating. Interment will follow in the Puxico Cemetery in Puxico with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Puxico, Missouri, in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Stoddard County Childrens Home, PO Box 164, Dexter, MO 63841 or to the Shriners Hospitals for Children, International Headquarters, 2900 Rocky Point Dr., Tampa, FL 33607
