G.B. Richey, Jr.
G.B.  Richey, Jr. of Dexter, Missouri was born in Wauchula, FL on February 19, 1929, and passed from this life on Saturday, December 31, 2022, at 8:55 PM, at the age of 93 years, 10 ½ months.  G.B. was a faithful member of Dexter church of Christ.
G.B. was preceded in death by his parents: G.B. (Brooks) Richey, Sr., and Bessie (Lawson) Richey as well as brothers Randy and Harold.  He is survived by his wife Euleen of Winchester Place in Bernie, MO; along with siblings Eulah Grissom of Dexter, James Richey of Cookeville, TN, Elbert Richey of Finger, TN, Carolyn Seesengood of Harrison, AR, and Sharon Olmstead of Lowell, AR; children Linda Taylor (Jack) of Birmingham, AL, Paul Richey (Sandra) of Dexter, and Barry Richey (Diana) of Liberty Township, OH, eight grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren; as well as many other family and friends.
G.B. graduated from Holcomb High School in 1947 and married his high school sweetheart Euleen Bernice Whaley on September 8 of the same year.  They were able to spend the next Seventy-Five years, three months, and twenty-three days together.
G.B. and Euleen initially made their home in Kennett, MO, where they worked on the farm with his parents and uncles.  In 1949 he purchased a small farm Southwest of Dexter where they made a few crops early-on, but then he developed his interest in electronics.  He completed a correspondence course in electronics from the National Radio Institure and began to repair radios and televisions.  During this time, he was approached by then mayor Willis Conner of Dexter to wire a small rental house. After doing that, he gained the confidence that the could do residential electrical work and started down that path working for a contractor in Dexter. Later, he decided to branch out on his own as Richey Electric and do some commercial work. He won his first electrical contract for an addition to the school in Brosley, MO.  After doing electrical work all over Southeast Missouri for many years, he concluded his work career with a large electrical contractor out of Cape Girardeau, MO and then retired to the farm where he became one of the well-known local Beekeepers and gardener of various vegetables which he shared with family, friends, and neighbors.
A focus of their life together was to raise three children and to be faithfully involved with the Lord's Church at the Shiloh congregation South of Dexter, and then later at the Mulberry Street and One-mile Road congregation in Dexter.
A few years after retiring from electrical work, G.B. and Euleen sold the farm and moved into Dexter, where they lived until March of 2022; when due to declining health, they moved to the Winchester Place Assisted Living facility in Bernie, MO.
G.B. loved his large family and enjoyed spending time with them.  He was faithful to the Lord and served as song leader, teacher, deacon in the Lord's Church over the years.
He will be greatly missed.
