Goldie Irene Lafferty, daughter of the late Tom and Virgie May Lanning Gibson, was born in Tallapoosa, Missouri on August 6, 1924, and passed away at her home near Bloomfield, Missouri on April 27, 2015, at the age of 90 years, 8 months and 21 days. She had lived in the Bloomfield, Missouri area most of her life. She was a member of the Mt. Pisgah General Baptist Church near Bloomfield, Missouri. On September 20, 1941, she was married to Orvel Lafferty in Gray Ridge, Missouri. He preceded her in death October 15, 1991. Surviving are one daughter, Annette Kathy Roberts of Bloomfield; three sons, Bill Lafferty of Carrolton, Texas, Jerry Lafferty of Loundes, Missouri, Donald Lafferty address unknown; thirteen grandchildren; thirty great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren; two brothers, Wesley Gibson of Bloomfield, Alvin Gibson of Denver, Colorado; and one sister, Jeanie Warren of New Bloomfield, Missouri. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by four sons, Robert Lafferty, Walter Allen Lafferty, Marvin D. Lafferty and Edward Ray Lafferty, three brothers and seven sisters. Visitation will be Wednesday, April 29, 2015, from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 29, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Gary Hancock of Fagus, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in the Chalk Bluff Cemetery near Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the Mt. Pisgah General Baptist Church, c/o Janice Berry, 19721 CO RD 504, Bloomfield, MO 63825.
