Hazel Christine Burton of Morehouse, daughter of the late Omer and Ruby Mason Freeman, was born in Polk County, Arkansas on October 2, 1931, and passed away at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston, Missouri on December 17, 2014, at the age of 83 years, 2 months and 16 days. Mrs. Burton grew up in Arkansas and had lived in Morehouse, Missouri for many years and had lived in Bloomfield for 16 years. She had worked at the Holiday Inn. On February 6, 1952, she was married to Daniel Lee Burton in Piggott, Arkansas. Surviving are her husband, Daniel Lee Burton of Morehouse, Missouri; one daughter, Sheila Stratton of Dexter, Missouri; five grandchildren, Jason Burton of Morehouse, Pam Curd of Dexter, Jeffrey Stratton of Qulin, Jamie Greer of Andrews Airforce Base, Maryland, and Josh Appleton of Dexter; nine great grandchildren; one brother, Larry Freeman of Sikeston, Missouri; and one sister, Cindy Lewis of Texas. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by one son, Delotes Burton; one grandson, Justin Lee Curd; one great grandson, Caleb Ray Burton; two sisters, Claudia Gadberry and Katie Kinder; and two brothers, Charles and Dwayne Freeman. Friends may visit Saturday, December 20, 2014, from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 20, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Michael Foster of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating. Interment with be in the Walker Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
