James Darrell Miller
James Darrell Miller of Puxico, Missouri, son of the late Eugene Arnold and Opal Elizabeth (Jenkins) Miller, was born in Dexter, Missouri, on August 27, 1937, and passed away on April 08, 2022, in Crystal City, Missouri, at the age of 84 years.
James was a long time member of Corinth General Baptist Church of Puxico, Missouri, where he served as a trustee of the church for 45 years. Additionally, he served in the U.S. Army and Army National Guard. His work projects at McDonnell-Douglas in Saint Louis, Missouri, included assignment to construction of all thirteen Gemini spacecraft and F-4 Phantom fighter aircraft production. After returning to southeastern Missouri, he spent fourteen years working for Procter & Gamble. Upon his retirement, he pursued his passion for gardening. He also enjoyed the outdoors and deer hunting with his wife, Peggie (Bonnie) Miller. They were married on June 24, 1961, at Liberty Hill General Baptist Church in Aid, Missouri.
James is survived by his wife Peggie (Bonnie) Miller; two sons Darrell (Dyan) Miller of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and James A (Denise) Miller of Saint Louis, Missouri; one daughter Carroll Miller-Simpson of Farmington, Missouri; five grandchildren Gina (Terry) Cody, Heather (Donnie) Simpson-Redmond, Katherine (Trey) Simpson-Danieley, Josiah Miller and Ezra MIller; four great grandchildren Crystal Boivin, Corbin Redmond, Miller Redmond and Raleigh Danieley; one brother Rodger (Linda) Miller of Puxico, Missouri; two sisters Nancy Foster of Festus, Missouri and Bertie (Archie) Foster of Festus, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents Eugene and Opal Miller; one son Jerry Dean Miller; two one sister and brother in law Doris and Frank Hoggard and one brother in law Eldon Foster. A host of family and friends also survive.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday April 13, 2022 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. with the funeral service beginning at 1:00 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel in Puxico, Missouri with Brother Jimmy Clark officiating. Graveside services will immediately follow at Rock Hill Cemetery. Watkins and Sons of Puxico will be in charge of all arrangements.
