Jesse Williams

Jesse D. Williams, son of the late Robert and Willowdean Rogers Williams, was born in Paragould, Arkansas on September 9, 1933, and passed away at the St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on October 8, 2014, at the age of 81 years and 29 days. Mr. Williams had lived in San Diego, California for many years, moved to Bloomfield in 1959 and had lived in Cape Girardeau and Jackson area the past several years. He was an area sales manager for Ortho Mattress. He was a veteran of the U. S. Army serving during the Korean Conflict and was a member of American Legion. On April 7, 1956, he was married to Delpha Lucille Rogers in Flint, Michigan. Surviving are his wife, Delpha Williams of Jackson; one son, Brian Williams of St. Louis, Missouri; two daughters, Shelia Williams of Marquand, Missouri, Gail Ann Pierce of Canalou, Missouri; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; three brothers, Billy Williams of Florida, Robert Sherwin-Williams of Harrison, Michigan and Dale Williams of Crescent City, California. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Brooke Williams, and two brothers, Royce and Jerry Williams. Friends may visit Tuesday, October 14, 2014, from 1:00 to 2:45 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, October 14, 2014, at 3:00 p.m. at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Tim Griffin of Dexter officiating. Interment with be in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
