John Bufford Barney

John B. Stark Barney, son of the late John and Gladys Beer Stark, adopted by the late Anson and Amah Julian Barney, was born in Malden on May 17, 1940, and passed away at NHC Healthcare in Town & Country, Missouri on October 1, 2019, at the age of 79 years, 4 months and 14 days.

John had moved to St. Louis in 1965 and to O'Fallon in 1995. He had worked for Lincoln Engineering as a group leader. He was of the Baptist Faith.

On June 27, 1959 he was married to Joyce Z. Fay Moore in Bernie.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Joyce Z. Fay Barney of O'Fallon, Missouri; one son and wife, John M. & Paula Barney of O'Fallon, Missouri; four grandchildren and spouses; Brian M Barney, Eric & Avery Barney, Jon Tyler & Sydney Barney, Hannah Barney; one great granddaughter, Elise Barney; four brothers, Bill Barney of Jefferson, Georgia, Tom & Jim Garner both of Michigan, Anson Barney of Dexter; one sister, Sheila Wallis of Dexter, niece, Diana Stott, and nephew & wife, Will & Melissa Barney. Other relatives and many friends. He was preceded in death by one son, Brian Bufford Barney; one sister, Helen Stark and one brother, David Lee Stark.

Friends may visit after 10:00 am on Thursday October 3, 2019, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter.

Graveside services will follow at 11:00 am on October 3, 2019 at the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
