Karen Rae Montgomery

Karen Rae Montgomery, 75, was born on August 3, 1950, in St. Charles, Missouri, to the late Elroy and Virgie (Brown) Montgomery. She passed away on July 22, 2026, at her residence in Wappapello, Missouri.

Karen was born and raised in St. Charles and was of the Christian faith. She worked in the food-service industry as a cook. In her free time, she enjoyed gardening, caring for animals, and mushroom hunting.

Karen is survived by her son, Walter Lucas McGhee of Wappapello, Missouri; three grandsons, Jacob, Ryan and Michael McGhee, three sisters, Debbie (Joel) Schneider, Terry (John) Gorman, and Susan Milburn: five great grandchildren, Michael McGhee Jr., Elodie McGhee, Rayla McGhee, Myrrah McGhee, William McGhee and several nieces and nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Larry Mumford.

Karen will be remembered fondly by her family and all who knew her.

Visitation will be held Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, August 1, 2026 at 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri.
