Louise D. Burton, daughter of the late Forest O. B. & Ruth Ethel Dublin Jones, was born in Senath, Missouri on January 19, 1922, and passed away at Cypress Point Skilled Nursing in Dexter, Missouri on October 2, 2015, at the age of 93 years, 8 months and 13 days. Mrs. Burton had lived most of her life in the Dexter area. She was a member of the Lighthouse Christian Center in Dexter and had worked on the line at the Purolator Plant in Dexter until she retired in 1984. She had volunteered with the Board of Southeast Missouri Legal Aide; delivered Meal's on Wheels to area senior citizens, and the Dexter Hospital Auxillary. She had a love of travel and always said her middle name was "Go" and her beautiful roses were admired by many. On August 23, 1941, she was married to James F. Burton in Caruthersville, Missouri. He preceded her in death on August 1, 1982. Surviving are three daughters and husbands, Shirley & Bob Decker of Paris, Tennessee, Phyllis & Maurice McFarlen and Linda Vargo all of Dexter, Missouri; three sons & wife, James D. & Janey Burton, Donald Burton and Jackie Burton all of Bloomfield, Missouri; thirteen grandchildren, eighteen great grandchildren; 10 great great grandchildren; one sister & husband, Eva & Charlie VanGinnip of Malden, Missouri; two brothers & wife, Chester Jones of Swartz Creek, Michigan and Harold & Sharon Jones of Cape Girardeau, Missouri. Other relatives and friends survive. She was preceded in death by one son, Jerry Don Burton; two daughters, Julia Sue Sanders and Dorothy Close; one granddaughter, Patricia Sanders; four brothers, L.D., J.T., Franklin & Earnest Jones; and two sisters, Frieda Wilkins and Margaret Nichols. Friends may visit from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 3, 2015, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, October 4, 2015, at 2:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri with the Rev. Tim Russell of Dexter officiating. Interment will follow in the Essex Cemetery in Essex, Missouri. Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri in charge of all arrangements.
