Martha Fay Blankenship of Bloomfield, daughter of the late Willie Barry and Zelma Cleta Lemons Bennett, was born in Advance, Missouri, on December 20, 1952, and passed away at the Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau on April 11, 2020, at the age of 67 years, 3 months and 22 days.
She had lived in the Marble Hill and Zalma area before moving to Bloomfield in 1996. Martha liked playing Bingo, Ladies Auxiliary at Dexter Eagles # 4062 and Sikeston Eagles. She attended the Zalma General Baptist Church.
On May 26, 1978, she married Elmer Gene Blankenship in Zalma, Missouri.
Surviving are; one daughter and spouse, Marsha (Tommy) Richardson of Bloomfield; five sons and spouses, David Blankenship of Bloomfield, Michael Blankenship of Bloomfield, Barry (Natasha) Blankenship of Malden, Frankie (Donna) Tackett of Bloomfield; Larry (Kristie) Tackett of Bloomfield; seventeen grandchildren, four great grandchildren; three sisters Wilma Masterson of Marble Hill, Rachel Borders and Ruth Moit both of Zalma. Other relatives and many friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her husband Elmer Blankenship, one sister Juanita Winchester, two brothers Norman Bennett, Bobby Bennett, one niece Patty Winchester and one nephew Randy Bennett. .
Graveside Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2020, at the Triplett Cemetery near Dexter with the Bro. Ronnie Winchester of Brownwood officiating.
Interment will be at the Triplett Cemetery near Dexter with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter, Missouri in charge of arrangements.
