Martha Norris of Puxico Missouri, daughter of the late William and Meta Buchanan, was born on January 09, 1930, and passed away at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Missouri on December 21, 2020, at the age of 90 years.
Martha belonged to the Missouri Retired Teachers Association, and The Puxico Thursday Culture Club. She was a former board member for the Stoddard County Rescue Mission. Martha was also part of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary. She was a life long member of the Fairview United Methodist Church. She enjoyed quilting, gardening, sewing and working the daily cross word puzzle in the news paper. Martha was a teacher at Puxico Elementary School for 20 years.
Martha was married to Russell Alton Norris on April 14, 1948 until his death on July 31, 1971.
Surviving her two sons Arthur (Sandi) Norris of Puxico Missouri and Dale (Danetta) Norris of Poplar Bluff Missouri; two daughters Kathy (John) Ginn of Puxico Missouri and Mary (Eddie) Barnhill of Charleston Missouri; eleven grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. She is proceeded in death my her parents William and Meta Buchanan; two brothers Louis Buchanan of Puxico Missouri and an infant brother; and two infant grandchildren. Martha is survived by a host of family and friends.
In lieu of flowers the family ask for donations to be made to Stoddard County Gospel Mission and Seed to Root Ministries.
Visitation will be held on Saturday December 26, 2020 from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.
Funeral service will be held on Saturday December 26, 2020 at 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.
Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery in Puxico Missouri with the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Puxico in charge of all the arrangements.
