Mona G. Evans, daughter of the late Clarence Alvin and Nellie Creed Green, was born in Acorn Ridge, Missouri on December 25, 1919, and passed away at the Puxico Nursing Center in Puxico, Missouri on November 16, 2015, at the age of 95 years, 10 months and 22 days. Mona was raised in the Acorn Ridge area, had lived in Kentucky, Illinois, Wisconsin and St. Louis before moving to Puxico in 1971. She was a member of the First General Baptist Church in Puxico. She had worked at McDonnell-Douglas in St. Louis during WWII, and as a clerk in department stores, but most enjoyed being a home maker. On April 1, 1939, she was married to Homer F. Evans in Hickman, Kentucky. He preceded her in death on March 20, 2002. Surviving are two daughters and sons in law, Debbie Combs & Dan Combs of Cookeville, Tennessee, Susan & George Jackson of Puxico, Missouri; four grandchildren, Brian Fleming (Martha Wayne Fleming) of Marietta, Georgia, Amy Fleming DeBerry (Matt Reels, Maliyah & Kayden) of Cookeville, Tennessee, Bradley Jackson (Kimberly Jackson) of Liberty, Missouri and Matthew Jackson of Puxico; two sisters, Ernestine Button and Ethel Blue both of St. Louis, Missouri. Seven nieces and nephews, other friends and relatives also survive. She was preceded in death by three brothers, Forrest, Vern and Lowell Green. Friends may visit after 1:00 pm on Wednesday, November 18, 2015, at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday November 18, 2015, at 2:00 pm at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Puxico with Rev. Kenneth Lambert of Bloomfield, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Fairview Cemetery near Puxico, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Puxico, Missouri in charge of arrangements. Pall Bearers will be Glenn Green, Dan combs, George Jackson, Brad Jackson, Matthew Jackson and Greg Button.
