Ola Sifford

Ola Sifford, daughter of the late James and Lydia Mason Gidcumb, was born near Bloomfield, Missouri on September 8, 1910, and passed away at her home in Bernie, Missouri on May 14, 2014, at the age of 103 years, 8 months and 6 days. She had lived in Bernie, Missouri for the last 60 years. She was of the Baptist Faith. On July 1,1934 she was married to John W. Sifford in Dexter, Missouri. He preceded her in death on August 27, 1950. Surviving are one son and daughter-in-law, James & Ann Sifford of Yoder, Colorado; one daughter, Ruth Sifford of Bernie, Missouri; four grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, eleven great great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Effie Joseph, Ruth Joseph, Opal Ellsworth, and Velma Green. Friends may visit on Friday, May 16, 2014, from 10:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held Friday, May 16, 2014, at 1:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Chapel in Dexter, Missouri with Bro. Don Wells of Bernie, Missouri officiating. Interment with be in the Bernie Cemetery in Bernie, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service in Dexter in charge of arrangements.
