Robert George Turner, son of the late Charles and Lillian Rogers Turner, was born in Detriot, Michigan, on December 11, 1927, and passed away at the Golden Living Center in Dexter, Missouri on June 8, 2015, at the age 87 of years. He spent his early career of 20 years with the U. S. Navy where he was a Chief Petty Officer. He later worked in Maintenance at a hospital in Illinois. He moved to Dexter in 1989 and was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Dexter. On March 10, 1956 he married to Betty Briscoe in Waukegan, Illinois. Surviving are his wife, Betty Turner of Dexter; one son & wife, William "Bill" Turner & Judy of Dexter; one daughter, Sharon Lewis of Bloomfield; one daughter in law, Marleen Turner of Winthrop Harbor, Illinois; and seven grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Stephen Turner. Friends may call on Thursday, June 11, 2015 after 11.00 a.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter Missouri. Graveside services will be Thursday June 11, 2015 at 1.00 p.m. at the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield with Dr. Barry Winders of Dexter officiating. Interment will follow in the Missouri Veteran's Cemetery in Bloomfield, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
