Shantika Lanay Jones

Shantika Lanay Jones of Bernie, daughter of Elijah Edward Jones Jr. and Cora Lee Harris, was born in Kennett, Missouri on June 27, 1989, and passed away in Jackson, Michigan on July 19, 2020, at the age of 31 years. Shantika interests were in make-up, hair, artist, and singing. She lived in southeast Missouri all her life and worked in nursing. Surviving are her two sons, Zy' Mearis Jones, and Jahlyis Cannon both of Bernie; her stepfather Abraham McDaniels; three brothers Lonnie Campbell of Missouri, DeMarco Jones of Missouri, Anton Jones of Catron, Missouri, Kyle McDaniels of Bernie; six sisters Cynthia Campbell of Poplar Bluff, Stephanie Jones of Clarkton, Michelle Allen of Bernie, Christuma Allen of Malden, Asia Jones of Cape Girardeau, and Tiffany Bryant of Kennett, Missouri. A host of Aunts and Uncles and family and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by her mother and father Marilyn and Robert Downs. Visitation will be held on Saturday August 1, 2020, at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri at 1:00 pm. Services then will follow at 2:00 pm at the Watkins and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. Floyd Wade of Charleston, Missouri officiating with the Watkins and Sons Funeral Home of Dexter, in charge of the arrangements.
