Tommy Gene Blackburn of Parma, Missouri was born to the late Bob and Evelyn Aaron Blackburn on January 08, 1932 in Deering, Missouri and passed away on April 11, 2021 in Cypress Point Nursing Center in Dexter, Missouri at the age of 89 years. Tommy has been a resident of Parma, Missouri most of his life. He was a member of the VFW of Parma and VFW of Lilbourn. He was a Veteran of Korean War where he received combat infantry, Korean service metal and the purple heart, Tommy was married to Mildred Hardin on February 16, 1954 in Cornith, Mississippi. She preceded him in death on April 19, 2008. Surviving are his three sons Chris Blackburn of Parma, Missouri, Carl (Kaye) Blackburn of New Madrid, Missouri and Sam (Janet) Blackburn of Sikeston, Missouri; six grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; seven great great grandchildren; one brother Charles Blackburn of Memphis, Tennesse; two sisters Chlotina Felker of Saint Louis Missouri and Pat Ann Tucker of Sun City, Arizona. Also a host of nieces and nephews survive. Tommy was preceded in death by three brothers Billy Blackburn, James Blackburn and Joe Blackburn and two sisters Earnestine Hood and Judy Hargis. Visitation will be held on Wednesday April 14, 2021 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Watkins and Sons Funeral Home in Dexter. Graveside services to be held on Wednesday April 14, 2021 at 2:30 p.m. with full Military Honors. At the Malden Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden, Missouri with Brother Kevin Lawrence of Gideon, Missouri officiating. Interment will follow in the Malden Memorial Park Cemetery in Malden, Missouri with Watkins and Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
