William "Sonny" Woodruff, son of the late William Cairl and Lillie Jane Stephens Woodruff, was born in Dexter, Missouri on March 29, 1938, and passed away at his home in Dexter, Missouri on April 6, 2014, at the age of 76 years. He had lived in Dexter, Missouri all of his life. He had worked at Purolator and as a carpenter and painter. On May 25, 1960 he married Carol Ann Cooper in Dexter, Missouri. She survives in the home. Surviving are his wife, Carol Ann Woodruff of Dexter; one daughter, Deborah Ann Woodruff of Dexter; one son, Thomas Wayne Woodruff of Dexter; six grandchildren and spouses, Casey Lynn & Chad Stall and Sarah Beth & Ian Turner all of Nashville, Tennessee; Bradley Woodruff, Danielle Sanders, Arin Woodruff and Dixie Woodruff, all of Dexter, Missouri; two great grandchildren, Chase Robert Stall and Connor Gene Stall, both of Nashville, Tennessee; and one sister, Pat Baldwin of Essex, Missouri. Other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one brother, Walter Woodruff and one half brother, Carlton Horn. Visitations will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Dexter, Missouri. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, at 2:00 p.m. at the Watkins & Sons Chapel in Dexter with the Rev. Kenneth Shelton, of Dexter, Missouri officiating. Interment will be in the Dexter Cemetery in Dexter, Missouri with Watkins & Sons Funeral Service of Dexter in charge of arrangements.
