Winona Griffin of Bloomfield, daughter of the late Charles L. Cowell and Maude Moss Cowell Holman, was born in Lamar, Arkansas on September 22, 1926, and passed away at the Bloomfield Nursing Center in Bloomfield on March 18, 2017, at the age of 90 years, 5 months and 24 days. She had lived in Bloomfield most of her life. She had retired from Arvin Automotive where she had worked as a welder. She had attended the First General Baptist Church in Bloomfield, was a member of the Red Hat Society, Helping Hands and enjoyed gardening, flowers and doing jigsaw puzzles. On June 21, 1946 she was married to Bond Griffin in Benton, Missouri. He preceded her in death on April 7, 2013. Surviving are one son, Wade Griffin & wife Karen of Bloomfield; two daughters, Bonnie DeBlois & husband Bill of Bloomfield, Carolyn Jackson & husband Robert of Frohna, Missouri; five grandchildren; five great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. Other relatives and friends also survive. She was preceded in death by twelve brothers and sisters. Visitations will be held Wednesday, March 22, 2017, from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Chiles - Cooper Funeral Home, in Bloomfield. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 23, 2017, at 1:00 p.m. at the Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home in Bloomfield Interment to follow in the Gravel Hill Cemetery near Bloomfield with Chiles-Cooper Funeral Home of Bloomfield in charge of arrangements.
